Blue Ridge Holistic Nurses Chapter

Blue Ridge Holistic Nurses' Chapter of AHNA Mission and Vision

Posted almost 4 years ago by Linda Thomas

Welcome to the Blue Ridge Holistic Nurses (BRHN) Chapter of the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA). We are your local chapter of AHNA here in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina. As a local chapter of AHNA, our mission is to spread the word about holistic nursing and AHNA and its work in showcasing holistic nursing practice to our community. We advocate for the research and education on holistic nursing and promote its practice in the general nursing population.

The American Nurses Association (ANA) in 2006 recognized Holistic Nursing as an official specialty in nursing.  To better guide us, AHNA published the Holistic Nursing Scopes and Standards of Practice.

Although AHNA and the BRHN chapter was originally established as a nursing organization, it has expanded its membership to anyone who is a holistic practitioner. You do not have to be a nurse to be part of our organization, and you simply must be interested in or active in holistic practice. As a specialty nursing association, AHNA serves over 5,500 nurses and other holistic healthcare professionals in the USA and internationally.

Our chapter's vision is the same as the national organization: Every Nurse will be a Holistic Nurse integrating self-care, self-responsibility, spirituality, and reflection in their lives and those of their patients. We hope that you will come and join us on our journey to a better, more "whole" life and universe.
